A glass of orange-carrot-ginger-juice. this for later

I love cold-pressed juice, but I don't really love the process of making it. Assembling, disassembling, washing, and drying the juicer parts isn't all that time-consuming or difficult, but it's enough work that I don't often bother. So when my pal Ashley of Rise Shine Cook taught me that I didn't need a juicer to make tasty juicy drinks, I was all in! Lately, this orange blender juice has been a 10 am ritual, energizing me between breakfast and lunchtime.

    Ingredients

This recipe requires only four basic ingredients, plus filtered water and ice:

A large orange, peeled and cut into four pieces. I recommend using a peeler to remove most of the white pith.

A large carrot, peeled, ends removed, and chopped into four pieces.

A nob of ginger, peeled or just washed well. The bigger the piece, the spicier your juice. I suggest starting with a pinky-sized piece and adding more if you'd like it more spicy. If you don't have fresh ginger, start with an ⅛th teaspoon of ginger powder.

A nob of turmeric, peeled or just washed well. About a teaspoon of fresh turmeric or an 1/16th teaspoon turmeric powder works well to start, and you can adjust from there if you'd like.

Tip - fresh ginger and turmeric can be frozen so that you can always have it on-hand.

Labeled ingredients: carrot, orange, ginger, turmeric, ice, water.

    Instructions

Making this juice is so easy! Once the produce is peeled, simply add all the ingredients to a strong blender and work up to high speed. Run the machine for about 30 seconds and it's ready to drink!

    Serving

This juice recipe makes one large or two small servings. It's best if consumed right away; storing it in a sealed container in the fridge to drink within 24 hours is fine, too.
